MU Guide Gen. 11

On Saturday, August 24, and Sunday, August 25, 2024, the Archives and Museum Department, under the Mahidol University Library and Knowledge Center, organized the 11th MU Guide Youth Tour Guide Training Project titled “Get to Know Mahidol Signatures, Travel Around the Salaya Community.” The event took place at the Mahidol University Archives and Museum, located within the Mahidol Learning Center Building, Mahidol University, Salaya. Assistant Professor Sarawoot Watechagit, Director of the Mahidol University Library and Knowledge Center, presided over the opening ceremony.

The project included various activities designed to build relationships and enhance participants’ understanding of the role of a tour guide. Highlights included lectures on the personality traits essential for tour guides, visits to significant sites such as the HRH Prince Father’s Biography, the Mahidol University Hall of Fame, and the “Wisdom of the Land” exhibition. Participants also enjoyed a tram tour of the Mahidol University campus, which introduced key locations and landmarks.

Additionally, the project featured an exploration of the history and way of life of the Salaya community at The House of Mahasvasti, along with visits to local attractions such as lotus flower viewing and a boat tour along the scenic Maha Sawat Canal, with opportunities to purchase local community products. The training concluded with a brainstorming session, where students presented their perspectives, ideas, and attitudes in a learning exchange activity at the Mahidol University Archives and Museums, Mahidol Learning Center, Salaya.
