THAI NURSING MUSEUM AND ARCHIVES FACULTY OF NURSING, MAHIDOL UNIVERSITY
In 2014, the Faculty of Nursing renovated the archives and museum of Thai nursing on the 4th floor of Queen Sri Bajarindra Building, Bangkok Noi, to commemorate the 150th birthday anniversary of Queen Sri Bajarindra, who founded the “School of Midwifery and Nursing” as Thailand’s first nursing school, which is currently known as the Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University; and also celebrating the 120 years of Faculty of Nursing in 2017.
“Royal Archives of Queen Sri Bajrindra”
The exhibition consists of 5 topics that portray the royal biography and key royal activities, particularly in education, medicine and nursing.
“Thai Nursing History Room”
The history and development of nursing profession in Thailand. The exhibition starts from the period whereby nursing reflects the intuition of mutual care between family members. Later, Thailand had adopted medical and nursing sciences from the western world, which coincided with the royal thoughts of King Chulalongkorn in the arrangement of modern medical treatment and nursing, as well as hospitals for Thai people. With the royal benevolence of Queen Sri Bajarindra, the Thailand’s first midwifery and nursing school named the “School of Female Midwifery and Nursing” was found-ed in 1896, which is currently known as the Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University.
“Khunying Binbakya Bidyabhed Room”
The history and development of Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University. From the stream of mercy to 120 years of glory. The exhibition emphasizes the life of nursing students in the past and present. Designed with the concept of “Living and Learning Lifestyle
“Nursing Archives Room”
Nursing Archives Room stores documents, books and journals that are considered valuable for nursing profession range from the past until present days both electronic and hard copies.
