MUSEUM OF CULTURAL ANTHROPOLOGY, RESEARCH INSTITUTE FOR LANGUAGES AND CULTURES OF ASIA, MAHIDOL UNIVERSITY

The Museum of Cultural Anthropology is located at Research Institute for Languages and Cultures of Asia, Mahidol University, Salaya Campus. The vision is to be a social innovation enterprise. Its mission is to culturing cultural innovation for the benefit of mankind.

The museum exhibits academic progression of the Institution. The museum is also used as practicum arena for all museum people.

The museum of Cultural Anthropology is making an interactive conversation with audiences through ethnic traditional villagesscape recreated to represent their mundane life both tangible and intangible culture. Audiences will be able to learn about past, present, and challenged to ask a critical question about the future. Audiences are encouraged to learn via multiple sensory and provided digitalisation of learning to create a new experience rapidly and widely.

Now, the museum is under renovation of a permanent exhibition and underdevelopment of a new learning modality. Consequently, Museum will become a centre for transformative learning.

VIVID ETHNICITY

Vivid Ethnicity is a special ‘caravan’ exhibition of the Museum of Cultural Anthropology. The mission is to promote cultural integrity through quality and virtuous learning.

Vivid Ethnicity is an innovative learning device that consists of online and off-line libraries specializing in ethnic groups in Thailand and educational outreach programmes designed to suit different contexts. It also incorporates a museum shop and an ethnic coffee shop offering authentic ethnic products to enhance Social Enterprise for ethnic groups and raise fund for the museum.

The caravan travels to deliver transformative learning by design thinking for schools, museums, and communities to make a “conversation” and “practice” for creative solutions of real world problem.
